Business Fire or Robbery

If there was a hurricane coming I think I could take my server and evacuate but what if my business was robbed or if there was a fire and the building burned down. What would be the best way to make sure all my data is recoverable? I'm talking about quickbooks data and my database with years of information on my business.  If I couldn't get that stuff back my business would be devastated!

Re: Business Fire or Robbery

There are a lot of different ways to back up your data these days.  As I see it, the biggest problem we see in the field with data backups is that if someone even has them that most of the time they just aren't working and nobody knows that until they call a computer repair firm to save them from a crash.   They say "we set up these backups last year and they were working great - I'm so glad we didn that."   Come to find out they haven't worked since and the information may be lost forever.  Devastating indeed.

Do-it-yourself backups just aren't safe.  If they are on magnetic media such as tapes or thumb drives or external hard drives - what happens when even a nearby lightening strike discharges a large amount of energy that wipes them out.   You don't need a direct hit for this.  That drive thats in the desk drawer - not plugged in?  Zapped!  We've even seen a computer stolen where the theif decided he wanted all the backups that were in the drawer too.

Enter Remote Data Backups

With the evolution of the internet and its increasing speed, we have the ability to remove your data from your home or office on a day-to-day basis.  We'll keep a copy of it in L.A. as well as Boston - we'll also check on it every day and make sure we have everything.  If it doesn't show up, we are going to know about it.  We can resolve this automatically or give you a call if you prefer.    There is no better way to ensure that you are protected.   MainSail DataVault managed data backups save someone almost every day and I encourage you to call us for a free trial.
